Guidelines for Submitting Work

We invite University of Minnesota students from any
discipline or subject to submit creative work made
with digital tools. The project must be able to be
displayed visually or aurally. The project can be one
done for a class assignment or on your own initiative.

Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of faculty
and students. Submissions can be in the form of a
video, web site, music disc, or slide. If the submission
is an audio or video piece, it should be no longer than
10 mins. and should be synced up to the beginning
of the project you want judged.

Each submission must be accompanied with a
one-page project abstract. Include your name, class,
email address, phone number. In the abstract be sure
to state if this was a project for a particular assignment
or done on your own.

Projects will be judged on four criteria:

-- Innovation
-- Intellectual Interest
-- Execution
-- Aesthetics

Four projects will be selected for each of the
Emerging Digerati events. Selected projects will
be awarded a $50 gift certificate and a Digerati
t-shirt . Presenters will have 10-15 mins. to show
and discuss the project.

In addition, each month there will be a “Work in
Progress” segment. If you are working on a project
idea or have a conceptualization and would like
some advice about how to proceed, we invite you
to submit a statement about the project conception.
“Work in Progress” sessions will be like a focus group
for your idea – you’ll get valuable feedback from the
participants.
