On-line Resource for the Somali Community

*With Mauricio Arango & Charles Earl Love Yust*
Minnesota is home to one of the largest Somali communities in North America . This vital international presence has flourished in recent years, but is in continual need of additional resources to assist transitions into new surroundings, and better illustrate this community's substantial socio-economic contributions to the region. This bilingual web-site has been developed in order to address some of those needs through a partnership between the Confederation of Somali Community in Minnesota (CSCM) and the University of Minnesota , and made
possible by the generosity of the University's Council on Public Engagement (COPE). Included in this site is information beneficial to new immigrants acclimating to life in Minnesota (i.e. transportation, housing, health services, finances, etc.), an on-line presence for Somali businesses, and information on Somalia and Somalis in Minnesota.
