Season 2

November 2003

Benjamin Lindau, University of Minnesota graduate student – Architecture, Benjamin has an interest to create architecture from the people we serve, he has researched methods to allow universal access to architectural representation. These projects include the architectural use of stereoscopic animation, modeling, and VR; and the innovative use of game technology in architecture.

Project Description:
In architecture, representation has "progressed" to the point of environmental simulation, and may now be affordable, attainable, and usable through the use of current gamming technology. For my graduate thesis, I am exploring the use of game technology, and how it can make better architecture. The presentation will include: the documentation of
applicable game technology, theory for use, the case study example of a simulated environment, and relevant research questions.
