First Monday of the Month
Weisman Art Museum, 5:30 - 7:30 PM
Here’s
how you can be involved:
If you want to see: Join us at the Weisman
Art
Museum auditorium from 5:30 – 7:30 pm with a
reception afterwards. October 2, November 6, December 4, 2006 and
February 5, March 5, April 2, 2007.
If you want to show: Submit your work. It can be
something done for class, or something done on
your own. We will select 3 to 4 projects each month to
be showcased. Selected students will demonstrate
and discuss their work with the attendees.
Submission procedures are listed below. (We will
also showcase one faculty member's work each
session - let us know if there is someone we should
invite!)
If you want advice: Tell us about a current project
that you need advice on. We will select one project
each month for the attendees to brainstorm about.
Submission procedures can be found at
www.inms.umn.edu/digerati/submission_info.htm
Hope to see you on the first Monday at the Weisman
Art Museum.
Digerati “evangelize,
connect people, adapt quickly.
They like to talk with their peers because it forces
them to go to the top of their form and explain their
most interesting new ideas. They give each other
permission to be great. They want to talk to each
other about the things they are excited about
because they want to see if it plays. They ask each
other the questions they are asking themselves.”
You know who you are. There are some of you in
every department and school on campus. You’re
the ones who are using new digital tools and
techniques to do old things in new ways, and new
things in ways no one has imagined. We’d like to
help you find each other, see what each other is
doing, and make connections that will lead to, well,
who knows what!
The first Monday of each month (Sept. – Dec., Feb.-
April) the Institute for New Media Studies and
the
Weisman Art Museum will be hosting Emerging
Digerati – a showcase of UM students’ work.
